What the Bible actually says
Church conflict recruits everyone it touches: into a faction, into the parking-lot meeting, into words that get sharper with each retelling. Paul's warning is blunt — 'if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.' Peacemaking is different from both peace-faking and side-winning: it acts in the Spirit, in love, and in humility, and it walks the direct, gentle path Jesus gave before talking to anyone else.
